The problem
Municipalities and families responsible for a vulnerable person's daily wellbeing — an elderly parent, someone living alone — can't have a human make that check-in call every single day, but a missed sign of trouble (a fall, forgotten medication, a sudden change) is exactly the kind of thing that needs to be caught immediately, not discovered days later.
What was built
Kærkald calls daily, in the same three-minute structured conversation every time, so the person being called recognizes and expects it. It asks about medicine, food, and general wellbeing in plain language, and writes a structured note after each call. Every call resolves to one of three levels: green is simply logged, yellow is collected into a daily summary for whoever's responsible, and red — a fall, chest pain, breathing trouble, acute confusion, or no answer after retries — sends an immediate SMS to the family member or on-duty staff. It never diagnoses anything; it listens, records exactly what was said, and lets a human decide what the level means. Data is hosted in the EU (Supabase, Ireland) and isolated per organization at the database level. The product has been renamed twice while finding this positioning — Trygly, then Hjemmero, now Kærkald — as it broadened from a municipality-only tool into something families can use to check on a parent or grandparent themselves.
