PDF Tools — Free browser-based PDF utilities — merge, split, convert, zero uploads.

The problem

Most free online PDF tools upload the file to a server to process it — fine for a public document, unacceptable for anything with personal or business-sensitive content, and usually the moment before a paywall or watermark shows up.

What was built

PDF Tools runs every operation — merge, split, extract or organize pages, rotate, compress, watermark, add page numbers, convert to images, and password protect or unlock — entirely in the browser. Nothing is uploaded to a server, so the files never leave the user's device. It also handles format conversion both ways between PDF and Word or Excel. No sign-up, no limits, no subscriptions, no watermarks on the output.

Features

  • Merge, split, extract pages, organize (drag-and-drop reorder), rotate, and compress PDFs
  • Add watermarks or page numbers
  • Convert PDF to images (PNG/JPEG) and images to PDF
  • Convert Word ↔ PDF and Excel ↔ PDF
  • Password-protect or unlock a PDF
  • 100% client-side — files never leave the device, no sign-up required
